This is something we hear more and more from insulation jacket manufacturers.

On paper, two fabrics can look almost identical.
Similar weight.
Similar thickness.
Similar temperature rating.

But after months of folding, sewing, outdoor exposure and maintenance, the difference can become very obvious.

The coating starts to crack.
The surface becomes brittle.
The fabric loses flexibility.

And suddenly, the jacket manufacturer is dealing with complaints that were never visible on the datasheet.

For removable insulation jackets, I believe material selection has to go beyond specifications.

You need to ask:
How does the fabric behave after repeated use?
How stable is the coating?
How consistent is the quality from batch to batch?
That is where real material performance starts to matter.
For insulation manufacturers: do you trust the datasheet, the test report, or your own field experience most?
